Mrs Maree Khoury

Director

From a young age, dance was something I adored. At 14, I found my passion for teaching children and from there I was lucky enough to be able to combine my two loves together, continuing for many years.

In 2003 DWM was born and at the same time I commenced studying a Bachelor of Dance Education. After completing my degree and devoting all my spare time into building my dance studio, I spent many years as a primary school teacher absorbing every aspect of being in a teaching environment. I couldn’t get enough!

I spent my days teaching at school and my nights teaching in the studio.

I truly love seeing children develop new skills and the pure joy when they achieve something they thought was impossible. I have always had a strong desire to make sure every student that walks through my door has emotional and social support. Love, friendship and a strong healthy mind are three things we cannot live without and so it became my ambition to build dancers who are not only skilful, but resilient, confident and happy.

I am determined to make each dancing year a fabulous one and I hope you will come along on this journey with me. Whether you are a new student joining us for the first time this year or one of my dear long-time dancers, welcome to our family.

Our Studio

Inspiring Confidence and Creativity

Our family-oriented Hills District dance studio has been creating a safe and happy place for children and young adults to learn how to dance for the past 20 years.

At DWM we place an emphasis on our studio values, Inspiring Confidence and Creativity. Our greatest asset are our highly trained and caring teachers who not only have an infatuation with dance but thrive on seeing their students grow and achieve on a weekly basis. They aim to inspire their students each lesson and participate in continuous staff training to ensure their classes are uplifting and valuable.

We have 3 main streams of classes at DWM catering for students from 2 years to Young Adults.

Our DWM Little Dancers classes are aimed at 2 – 5 year olds and provide an exciting and fun dance program offering styles in Jazz, Ballet and Acro.

Our Recreational Program provides classes for school-aged students who are starting dance for the first time or are looking for a fun and challenging way to stay active and learn new skills. Many of our students are children who attend Out of Hours School Care and are looking for ways to fulfil their afternoon activity needs.

Our Competition & Exam Program is for our more serious dancers who are looking for a higher level of technical training, to complete their exams, and/or compete in local and national competitions.

At DWM we love encouraging students in all our streams and feel completely fulfilled when our students share their love of dance with us and achieve their personal goals.
